How-to Remove Four of the Most Common Food Stains With Household Products

 

SUPPLIES

White Distilled Vinegar

Grease-removing dish soap

Baking Soda

Washing Cloth

Toothbrush (or other small brush)

Ketchup Stain Removal

1. Use a toothbrush and apply white distilled vinegar in small cup.

2. Scrub the clothing area with the ketchup stain thoroughly.

3. If stain is large, continue application of vinegar until the stain has faded.

4. Wash normally according to the care instructions indicated on the shirt tag.

5. Dry and wear!

Oil And Grease Stain Removal

1. Apply baking soda to the stain area and press it against the shirt tightly. Allow the baking soda to sit for 45 minutes. For stains older than one day, allow the baking soda to sit for 2 hours

2. Apply a generous layer of dish soap over the baking soda.

3. Soak a toothbrush in white vinegar and gently scrub the mixture.

4. Wash normally according to the care instructions indicated on the shirt tag.

5. Dry and wear!

Coffee Stain Removal

1. Use a small cloth soaked in white distilled vinegar to dab the stain area.

2. Apply baking soda to the area and pat down until there is a paste texture.

3. Apply more vinegar and scrub thoroughly with a toothbrush.

4. Wash normally according to the care instructions indicated on the shirt tag.

5. Dry and wear!

Wine Stain Removal

1. Soak the stain in white vinegar. Let it sit for 15 minutes.

2. Cover the area in baking soda.

3. Apply more vinegar and scrub thoroughly with a toothbrush.

4. Wash normally according to the care instructions indicated on the shirt tag.
